The Salon National des
Collectionneurs was once the dream of one man:
Michel Laliberté...
The man behind the show
Although he became a collector only during the eighties, Michel was
always what one could call a "junk collector". Toys of its
childhood, tools of his
father, and later the toys of his own children,
Michel preserved all during his life a heap of
objects which meant something and bringed
out good memories to him. He had the heart of a
collector.
It is at the beginning of the eighties that his wife, Denise, offered

him a small-scale model of a Corvette 1957.
It was the first part of a collection which will
count, twenty years later, more than two thousand
miniature cars. A passion was born.
What Michel liked best in collecting was meeting with other collectors
(which became quickly good friends) to discuss
and exchange small cars. Almost all the weekends,
the basement of Michel, with the paces of a museum,
transformed the time of one evening into coffee
meets, where some collectors and friends of the
family met to share their common passion. These
meetings are somewhat the ancestor of the
expo; the spark that lit into Michel's mind the
dream of such an event.
